Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Girls with Gifts, Inc!

We welcome eager volunteers who are inspired to inspire! Our volunteer and mentorship programs are designed to give each volunteer a diverse and rewarding experience while working toward fulfilling our mission to cultivate the talents of young ladies, ages 12-18, with emphasis on the arts, education and self-empowerment.

Become a Mentor

Volunteers are an integral part of the success of Girls with Gifts.  We seek individuals that are passionate about the development and personal growth of our Girls and our organization. The donation of your time and resources allow us to continue the important work of training our young girls to shine as women!

Our volunteers support the organization by directly working within one of our standing committees, ad-hoc committees, special events or for our Reach Back, Pull Forward Experience & Mentorship Program.

Our three main support areas are:

Committee Membership

We invite you to join one of our standing committees. Each committee carries out a specific function as outlined below.  As a volunteer committee member, you will be responsible for:

  • Attending a volunteer orientation
  • Attending regular committee meetings
  • Submitting agenda items to committee chair for meetings
  • Reviewing and approving minutes from committee meetings
  • Assuming responsibility for certain activities or projects as appropriate
  • Communicating with chair and other members between meetings regarding projects and concerns

RBPF Experience Volunteer

The Reach Back, Pull Forward experience is a unique and exciting one-week summer experience for girls, aged 12 – 18. The experience provides an open opportunity for character-building and skill-strengthening. The mentees are exposed to community-oriented, professional women who are personally invested in their success.

  • Becoming a RBPF Experience Volunteer requires a criminal background check.
  • The Experience is currently ran for one week in Los Angeles (June) and Houston (July).  Volunteers are needed for both.
  • RBPF Experience volunteers are expected to attend each program session over the 7-day program.

RBPF Mentor

After the one-week summer intensive Reach Back, Pull Forward Experience, each participant is matched with a Mentor.  We match pairs based on the student’s “gift” and the mentor’s profile.  During the 12-month program, each pair follows a prescribed foundational curriculum to help build a strong mentoring relationship.

  • Becoming a RBPF Mentor requires a criminal background check.
